A weekly Team Trivia show hosted by Kevin Eakes. http://playteamtrivia.com/
Team Trivia games are six rounds of three general trivia questions, with answers handed in after each question. In the first three rounds the question are worth 1, 3 or 5 points each. In the second two rounds the questions are worth 2, 4 or 6 points each. There is a halftime question, usually with four answers worth 2 points each for a total of 8. On the final, usually a matching or put these things in order question, teams can wager from 0 to 15 points. A perfect score is 86 points.
Plenty of parking. Usually about ten teams of 1-8 players show up. Cheating has occasionally been an issue, but it is not rampant.
A daily free answer can be found out the team trivia web address above. A halftime hint is sometimes available on Twitter @ttcarolinas. A theme for the week is available on Facebook @teamtriviaga. Kevin also offers a features called The Twitter 5 which can be found on Twitter @Cousinkevin13. The Twitter 5 is a list of five items, one of which will have something to do with one of the questions asked during the main trivia game. If your team picks the correct item, you will receive five bonus points for your league score. (But not for that trivia night, and your total score cannot exceed a perfect score of 86.) Kevin also has a series of bonus games such as Reeling in The Years, Trivia-opoly, and about two dozen others which gives teams a chance to win free answers at later games.
The questions are written by the Team Trivia corporate office. The first half should be relatively easy for experienced players, but perfect scores are rare. The regular teams are experienced and the scores are almost always close. Winning scores usually fall in 65-75.
Prizes are credit card style house money of 1st -$25, 2nd – $15, 3rd – $10. Money can on be used on food and beverages.
Kevin has been hosting Team Trivia games for several years, and brings a lot of energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the games. His music play list is mostly British Invasion and Prog Rock, and he gets into deep tracks.
The Charlotte region of Team Trivia has semi-annual Regional championships for the top 15 registered teams in the region. A teams top fifteen scores are used to determine which teams qualify. Prizes at the last Regional Championship were 1st – $400, 2nd – $200, 3rd – $100 in cash. Prizes of 1st – $75, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $25 for regular season standings, and door prizes of cash and swag.
